My Idol

Some people when it comes to their idol they look at big names like Nelson Mandela, Obama, Mahatma Ghandi or even celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Drewbarry Moore or Kim Kardashian. I wont go so far as to saying that any of these big name people are my idols or any other big names because if there is one person i adore and idolize is my mother. Yes my mother. My mother has shown me over the years that she is the best role model for me. People may say other wise but i say they have no clue who my mother is for me. My mother has showed me all the good things i need to know to live my life and what do i have to do to survive in this world. For me that's what a role model should do.
My mother was born in a small middle class family. She was brought u in a very strict home environment. Both her parents were strict in certain things. I guess that's how she grew up to be such a well mannered and centered person. She did not study much just until her O'levels. She had no interest in studying at the time and was more interested in learning classical music. I admire her for going for what she was passionate about. She got married at the age of 29 to my father which was in the year 1985. She dove into marriage life with no fear of not being able to live it but instead she did what she could do to make it work. My mother cooked good food for my father and all three of us as her children. She never once complained about how hard marriage life is. She had to put up with her mother-in-law and four sister-in-laws. She did it all by herself without even once having to talk about divorce with my father. Nowadays it is very hard to find couples who are married who have not at least once talked about divorce or have gotten a divorce. After years of putting up with all this my mother is still happily married to my father for 27 years now this 2012. She will always tell me that when i get married i must be able to cook good food for my husband because she says the way to a man's heart is through the stomach. So she started teaching me how to cook since i started secondary school. Now i have learnt to cook a few Indian dishes, Malaysian fried dishes and also western food. Not only that i can also bake cakes, cookies, muffins and cupcakes. My friends say my husband is lucky because he will always get good food from me. I will say this, my mother is my best teacher ever. If he never thought me any of this i would not know how to in the 1st place. I can cook, bake, clean, wash clothes, dishes and many more. All thanks to my dear mother. She will always tell me that in a relationship to give and take is the best way to stay strong in a relationship. She gave me advises like "keep quiet if your husband shouts at you", "don't fight back with your husband", and "take care and love him always no matter what".
This is why i think my mother is my idol. I will not ever idolize any one else till the day i die. I love my mother and she will always be number one in my heart. She has done nothing but give me good food, love, care, clothes that i want and even money when i have none. She has stayed up late nights taking care of me when i was sick. You can say this is all a mother's job that is why she is doing all this but i will say it is not a compulsory thing for her to do. She wants to do it that is why she is doing it. That is what a idol should be and for me its my mother. i love you my dear beautiful wonderful mother.

My Mid Semester Break

My mid semester break started of with a trip to Pulau Langkawi. I went with my brother's and their three friends on what was the most amazing journey and stay in a beautiful place such as Pulau Langkawi. We took a very slow drive down to Kuala Kedah from my home which is in Petaling Jaya. We left around 1a.m in the morning and reached Kuala Kedah Jetty at 7.45a.m. We parked our car and took the 9.30 ferry to Pulau Langkawi. All the way there i just could not keep my eyes open but i still tried very hard to look out the window because the scenery was beautiful..we passed many islands just floating there in the middle of the sea. At around 11a.m we reach Pulau Langkawi. Oh wow was i excited because it was my first time in Langkawi. I have heard so much about the beaches, the sunset, the scenery and just all the amazing activities you can do there. We rented a car and off we were headed to our apartment which was The Green Village apartments. It was a small cozy place which felt more like home and we all really loved the environment.

During our stay at Langkawi we decided to go island hopping. We were taken to the pregnant lady mountain, eagle feeding, and a private island to swim. That was a very good activity because we got to see a lot of things on the way to each destinations. The boat was a bit rocky at times because of the waves made by other boats which at times was really scary because i felt like i was going to go over board. Thank God that never happened and we all reached back safely. The day we were leaving Langkawi i was really sad because i really loved it there but i was also happy that i made some new memories that i know i will cherish for the rest of my life. Again we took the ferry and got back to Kuala Kedah. We got in to our car and just drove all the way back trying to reach back before 5p.m that day and we did it. Then i had to take my car and straight drive down to Seremban to my grandparents house. My mother's cousin had come down from U.K and my mother wanted me to meet them. So i went there and stayed the night an d came back the next day. When i finally came home i was just really tired from all the traveling i was doing. I had no mood to go out or enjoy my holiday, I felt like just lazing around the house. I did go out for short periods of time and meet my friends but that was it. I started missing my classmates and i wanted to just get back to classes. That was my mid semester break.
